The Center for Afroamerican and African Studies (CAAS) functions as an academic department and as three area studies programs. It has its own undergraduate program, courses, and faculty. It is also a home for interdisciplinary area studies research. It helps promote scholarship and teaching in African Studies, African American Studies, and Afro-Caribbean Studies throughout the University of Michigan. -

African and African Diaspora Studies Program at Tulane University.
The Program supports students who choose to study the languages of Africa and its Diaspora and is particularly interested in encouraging the study of less commonly taught languages such as Yoruba, Kiswahili, Arabic and Haitian Creole. The Program also encourages students to pursue Study Abroad opportunities in Africa and its Diaspora and advises them in all matters pertaining to such study. -
