A Few Facts
About News on the Net
- AFP will
charge you at least US $3000 per month in order to provide you with 5-10
news articles per day.
- Even
receiving a few news articles directly into your e-mail as an individual can
cost you at least US $200 per month (AFP's rates).
- Reuters will
charge you at least US $1,500 up-front in order to setup their news delivery
system for you. That's in addition to the HUGE monthly payments.
- AFP,
Reuters, AP and others will sue you if you copy, paste or reproduce their
news articles to your site.
- News
companies and sites such as CNN, The New York Times, Yahoo that relay
AFP, Reuters and AP news do not simply provide enough news on Africa. And
they all basically keep repeating different versions of the same news.
And they cover only the sensational. And...
The Africa
Newswire Network (ANN) has changed all that. If you are interested in
TOTALLY FREE NEWS, read on...

about our other free news options, go to the news delivery options page.
Our headline
news ticker
Thanks to the marvels of
technology, we can now offer you our African headline news ticker, directly on
your site.
You do not have to do anything.
All you need to do is copy and paste a few lines of Java code on the Web page(s)
where you want the headlines to appear. Once this is done, the news ticker will
appear automatically on the page(s) you pasted it on.
News ticker are a very elegant
way of bringing fresh, daily news to your site. Because our ticker is
specialized in Africa-related news, you will be able to offer your visitors
direct links to the sites that carry these news.
How does it
work?
Simple: when you or a visitor
sees a headline that interests you, you click on it. When you click on the
headline, the ticker takes you to the site that carries this news.
Our ticker will carry the
headlines of our own site (The Africa Newswire Network). We will also include
Africa-related headlines from sites such as Reuters, AFP, BBC, CNN, African
newspapers online, etc.
Advertising
on the News ticker
Our headline news ticker can
also carry a few lines of advertising. If you are interested, see our advertsing rates.
Requirements
To view the news ticker
headlines on your Web site, your visitors must have a Web browser that supports
Java 1.0. They need to have at least Netscape 4.0 or Microsoft Explorer 4.0 or
higher installed on their computers. Both browsers are free at Netspape and Microsoft sites.

close to your ticker explaining this. Visitors with old browsers will not see
the headlines. Instead, they will see a message saying: "Your broswer is
old. You need version 4.0 or later to view our news".
